Last night, I actually managed to get some sleep. I think I would have slept straight through the night, had it not been for a loud CRASH in my living room. I woke up with a start when I heard it, heart pounding. I'm up on the third floor and if something goes bump in the night, it's not a good thing. I came out into the living room and saw that the front door was locked, nothing was wrong that I could see--my living room get some pretty decent light from a street light right outside the front window, so I had some light to see by. I turned on a lamp and saw the source of the noise. The curtain on the window over my computer had fallen and landed on the monitor. One of the posts holding it had fallen out of the wall.

I had to find some more screws before I could rehang the curtain so it was off to the hardware store today. I came home and my curtain is now once again in it's rightful place. After that was hung, my bathroom sink was clogged so I had to fix that. I'm just all about home repairs today.

Who's missed me? Anybody?

I was told by my sister that I had better update my blog or else. While I'm sure the "else" would be intersting, I don't want to incur her wrath.

I've been busy during my hiatus, learning my new job, getting my life in order and, this may be a shocker, knitting. I haven't really completed much of anything--my concentration is just now getting back on track from when I lost my job. (Does anybody else have that problem? Something happens and your concentration is thrown out of whack?) I've knitted what must amount to at least a dozen socks but end up frogging them because of one thing or another. Hopefully, now that my concentration is starting to come back, I'll be able to finish a pair. Or two. Or three.

I've also stepped foot into the world of spinning. I purchased my first roving and am on the hunt for a spindle (is a shocker that it has pinkpinkpink in it?). Does anyone have any tips out there? I'm looking at a couple at Greensleeves Spindles--totally want the one in pink called Katherine, but have thus far resisted its siren call.

The job is going well and I'm learning more and more as the days go by. The other AM has been out of the office due to medical problems the last two weeks so I've had to take on some of her duties as well. I had two very long days this week because of one of my duties. I can honestly say that I've never been happier to see the weekend come.

.One of the best things about work is one of my daily visitors, the office complex dog Molly. Here's a shot of the sweet girl herself. I have treats for her that I get at Dollar General on my weekly trips and she knows right where I keep them. She's been a bit playful lately, running up and down the hallway. The kids that come into the office love her and she loves them right back. Molly's got a very good temperment and will willingly suffer little grubby hands loving on her if she gets a treat or two in the end (and possible a belly scratch as well) <

Besides knitting and roving, I made my first pair of earrings. A friend took me shopping for my birthday and I somehow ended up with both knitting and jewelry making supplies in my hand. I used Swarovski Crystal butterflies and when they catch the light just right, they sparkle like crazy.
