I completely forgot...my Secret Pal has sent me a couple of wonderful packages, one filled with Christmas goodies and a book, the other filled with yarny goodness, including a new sock pattern and some handmade needle rolls.

Pics to come!

Christmas was pretty quiet here. I went to a friend's for dinner and we ended up watching a few movies: World Trade Center, The Devil Wears Prada and Cars. I usually like movies like WTC, but, I didn't like that particular movie as much as I thought I would. I really liked TDWP and Cars, though. I may end up getting both of them for my own collection. My favorite part of Cars? The tractor tipping. Too funny!

I finished the socks that I had on the needles when I fell a couple weeks ago. I thought it would be difficult to follow a pattern for anything over basic socks, but, it was much easier.

I found the yarn on Etsy.com, it's called Christmas Lights. It does indeed remind me of strands of multi-colored lights.

This commercial (my favorite, btw) is from a restaurant in my hometown. Seeing this every year meant Christmas was on its way.

Whatever you celebrate, I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.

Have you ever had a day when you need a hug? A shoulder to cry on? Someone to say that it's going to be ok and tomorrow's a new day? Or even in less than a month, it will be a new year and a fresh start for everyone?

That's the type of day I'm having.

Not much knitting going on. I pick up a project, only to put it down a second later. Same with any reading material. Nothing's holding my interest. Not even the new books I got at the library yesterday.

I need a hug in the worst way. I think I'm going to curl up under the covers and try to hibernate my way through this day. And tomorrow too if I can't face that as well.

Things NOT to do....

--Don't fall while standing a chair, trying to adjust ornaments on a Christmas tree and hurt your knee, making it near impossible to walk.

--Don't slip and fall on ice and land SMACK on your back, banging your head off the sidewalk in the process. This will 1.) leave a nice goose egg on the noggin and 2.) break/crush your nifty bamboo knitting needles on which you have had a sock. There will be no finishing of the sock until replacements for the needles can be located.

--Don't forget to check the traffic on snowy and icy days. This could help prevent a two hour commute home.

--Don't burn dinner. It leaves a nasty smell in the apartment and leaves you hungry.

Just some helpful tips....
